A brace from Rebels striker Simon Ullathorne and fine strikes by Anthony Howard and Paul Barrowcliff helped Slough record their first victory at Wexham Park this season.

The Rebels started the match very brightly and could have opened the scoring early on with good chances falling to defenders Anthony Howard and Keith McPherson, but both efforts were well saved by James Hasell in the Harlow goal.

Ten minutes into the match Harlow had their first real effort of the match. Mark Tompkins powerful stike from the edge of the area was well held by Slough's on-loan goalkeeper Gary McCann.

Soon after it looked as though Slough would take the lead. Gary Fitzgerald met a corner from Junior Haynes at the near post. His header looked a certain goal, but the ball was somehow clawed over the bar Hasell.

Slough were nearly left to rue that near miss. Eighteen minutes into the match Coley was fouled by Slough defender McPherson in the area. Luckily for the Rebels Marvin Samuel's powerful penalty was well saved by McCann.

Four minutes later Slough had a penalty of their own. Simon Ullathorne's flick fell nicely in to the path of Michael Bartley who was fouled by Neil Moore. Ullathorne calmly stroked his penalty into the centre of the net.

Slough could have added to that lead. Ullathorne again went close to scoring with a free kick and soon after the same player's pass put Clement James through on goal. His powerful cross-shot cannoned off the crossbar and rebounded to safety.

Moments before half time it looked as though Harlow would equalise. Former Wexham Park favourite Corey Browne's cross into the area was met by Coley only five yards out, but McCann produced another top class save to deny the striker.

Slough sat back early in the second half as Harlow took the initiative and the Reds had a good spell of pressure. Coley had another chance after a good through ball by Samuel, but his effort was straight at McCann.

Slough saw out the Harlow pressure and were within inches of adding a second. Bartley used his pace and power to get past two Harlow defenders. His toe-poked effort looked set to be a certain goal until Moore brilliantly cleared the ball off the line.

Slough were not to be denied the second goal they needed though. A Junior Haynes corner into the area was flicked on by McPherson to Howard who volleyed past Hasell from close range to claim his second goal in two games.

The Rebels added a third goal eleven minutes from time. A long kick by McCann was chased by Bartley who found himself through on goal until he was fouled by Dave Cook in the area. Slough were awarded a penalty and Cook was sent off. Ullathorne cooly converted the penalty for his second goal of the match.

The Rebels completed the scoring just before the match ended. A wonderful cross-field ball by man of the match Ullathorne was met by Paul Barrowcliff who calmly cut inside his marker and fired the ball past the advancing Hasell.
