Man Of Match: Carlton Fairweather

Our poor home run against Northwich Victoria continued with all four goals coming in a 23 minute period in the first half. The Rebels were without skipper Briley, through suspension, and Fiore, Foran and Scott through injury.

In the blustery conditions, Northwich settled better, but we had chances to take an early lead, with McKinnon hooking his shot over the bar from Stanley's cross and Fairweather driving just wide of the target from the edge of the 18-yard box.

The Cheshire side took the lead on 15 minutes, when Hancock headed home from close range. They made it two when O'Connor's drive from the edge of the penalty area got the better of Bunting and a minute later Hancock headed home his second from a corner. The 38th minute saw Hemmings make it 4-0, tucking the ball home from left inside the 18-yard box.

After the break, Slough worked hard to reduce the arrears, but despite efforts from Sayer, McKinnon and Fairweather, we were unable to break the visitors down.
