Slough started this match brightly and took the lead after 34 minutes.
A Friel corner fell to McKinnon who had his shot blocked and then half-cleared only for Stalybridge's Brown to chest the ball into his own net.
But Brown made up for his error seven minutes later when he headed into an empty net after Bunting missed out on Boyle's free-kick.
Level at the break we again started the brighter of the two sides only to fall behind after 63 minutes Bauress's corner was headed home by Kirkham. We fell further behind with five minutes left. Morgan's cross fell to Edwards who volleyed home from close-range.
Sayer's tap in two minutes later reduced the arrears, but we ran out of time
