Slough lost a disppointing Bob Lord Trophy first leg clash with Bath to two penalties.

Bath's Paul Rendall slotted the first of his penalties home in the 25th minute after Darren Anderson, bundled into Graham Withy in mid-air.

The Rebels tried to hit back but with little coherence, until Eammon O'Connor was brought on in place of Mark Turkington after 80 minutes.

With his first touch of the ball, O'Connor swung a corner in to Mark Hill, who thumped the ball in to level the scores.

But with just one minute to go, £18,000 signing Colin Fielder miskicked a clearance and Trevor Bunting had trouble punching the ball away.

The ball fell to the feet of a Bath man and Tony Knight handled as it headed for the open goal. He was sent off, and Rendall took his second spot-kick of the night.
