The Maidenhead team avenged the defeat they had received earlier in the season when the teams met for the return game at Maidenhead on Saturday, 20th January, 1912.

The downfall of the Slough team was caused by one or two weaknesses in the defence. The game was very even for some time, both goals having some narrow escapes.

Eventually Greenwood caught the Maidenhead defence napping, and after beating his back, beat Allen with a beautiful shot from 20 yards.

Exchanges were very fast and veered from end to end with great rapidity, but there was no further scoring before the interval.

Soon after the restrart Clerke equalised for the homesters. This was the turning point of the game and the next 25 minutes saw one terrific box bombardment of the Slough goal and it was no surprise when Clarke again scored to put the Norfolkians in the lead.

Griffin added another soon after and the Slough defence was certainly cracking udder the constant pressure Harrington completing the scoring just before the final whistle.
