FOOTBALL League scouts watching Richard Strong, Dave Russell and Barry Metcalfe must have gone away reasonably impressed with the Slough Town trio after Wednesday's Isthmian League draw.

But manager Joe Arpino admitted: "We did not play well. Even so, we could have won and I don't know why Peter Feely had a 'goal' disallowed."

Lowly Oxford took the lead in the 10th minute with a 25 yard drive by John Lever.

Slough eventually fought back and Paul Lee equalised in the 41st minute. He ran on to Turl's pass, shrugged off two defenders and slotted the ball home.

In the second-half Oxford, who had Boyland booked for a foul on Russell, were relieved when Feely's 76th minute 'goal' was disallowed for hands.

Then Turl saved Slough by hooking the ball off the line after a slip by keeper Teale.
