After defeating Marlow in the preliminary round Gramophone were fancied as winners for this match on Saturday at Hayes, but after having the best of the game could only effect a draw of two goals each.
The home forwards showed good combination, but missed many easy chances. Blackwell opened the scoring from a pass by Matthews. Luke equalised for Slough by a pass from Wightman.
Early in the second half, Luke again scored for Slough, and the game became tense. Gramophone had the best of the play. Warboys and Reed threw away several good opportunities. From a free kick Annie scored for Gramophone with a fast strike and the result stood at two goals each.
