7 Points to date is probably the least we deserve, and in all honesty I think we should have had another 3 points on the board.

Good afternoon and welcome to Arbour Park for today’s league fixture against Torquay United, we hope that they enjoy their visit, and have a safe journey back home. This was probably one of the stand out fixtures that we were all looking forward to when the fixtures were announced, with Torquay being an EFL club as recent as 2014, and it just goes to show the huge strides we have made as a club in recent years, bridging what was a 5 league gap at the start of that year, obviously this had to include a downturn for them too, however still impressive from our point of view.

With Torquay being the only full time team in the National League South this season, they are widely tipped to be challenging for the championship, and for that reason this will be an extremely tough game this afternoon, having said that we have both started with the same form of 2 wins a draw and a defeat, however up until Tuesday night they were yet to concede.

In terms of ourselves, we have been delighted with our response to losing at Chippenham, by picking up back to back wins, and even happier on Tuesday night, as despite not being up to our usual standards first half, we came out second half with a real purpose, and turned round a one nil deficit to take the three points.

What was pleasing for myself and Jon as managers, is that we got the win despite making 5 changes from the winning side at Gloucester, showing real strength and depth in the squad.

Having said that we did pick up a couple of knocks on Tuesday, including Scott Davies who injured his ankle in the first half and is unlikely to be fit today, also Sean and Sam both took knocks, and we will have had to assess them along with George Wells on Thursday night.

7 Points to date is probably the least we deserve, and in all honesty I think we should have had another 3 points on the board.

Whilst today will be tough, we can set the lads up to work hard and enjoy the game without any pressure, but safe in the knowledge we have proved already that we will be able to compete at the higher level.

Hopefully we will get a big crowd into today, and that everyone can get behind the lads like you did second half Tuesday, what I would say though is when things aren’t going as well, that is when we really need you to get behind us, as it can sometimes just give us that extra 10%.
