Good afternoon and welcome to Arbour Park for our first game of the season in The National League South.

It certainly feels nice saying that after what has seemed a long time getting here.

We would like to welcome Gary McCann and his Hampton and Richmond team to Arbour Park, and wish them the best for the forthcoming season.

After reaching the Play off Final last season there has been a lot of change at the Beavers, and like ourselves there will be a number of players making the step up from the excellent Hendon team last year.

Normally in a season you might get a promotion or an FA Cup run, however we were lucky to achieve both, and with that comes the added pressure of trying to improve on what was a year to remember. Like when we went up to Step 3, we will no doubt have some great days, and some poor days, however it is important that the fans get right behind the lads both home and away, and if we can get some of the support that we had at the likes of Kings Lynn and Gainsborough we won’t go far wrong. In terms of pre-season it has gone pretty well, and what I mean by that is that we have not picked up any major injuries, this as managers is a huge thing, as we have had two seasons in a row before where we have lost a big player for the whole season.

Personally we are very excited to be back playing for points, and should have a full squad to choose from, with only Guy Hollis a doubt.

Enjoy the game and the season, there are some huge games to look forward to, and make sure you spread the word. Slough Town are back.
