Whatever happens tonight we will be back here next season and whether we are in the Conference South or the same league we will be having another good go at it, and will continue to strive for improvements.

Good evening and welcome to Arbour Park for tonight’s play off semi-final against Kettering Town. It has been a fantastic season this year, with 5 exceptional sides blowing the rest away, and with a 19 point gap between 5th and 6th it highlights that further.

The play-offs can be a fantastic way to get promoted, but is also the cruelest way to go out, and we have experienced both, however we will just do our utmost best and hope that it is enough to get over the line. Kettering is an extremely tough game, and they are one of the best sides that we have played this season, the fact that they are the top goal scorers in the country from the premier league down to step 4 highlights their dangers. They have obviously come to Arbour Park and won already this season, so I don’t think the game will hold any fear for them, there is very little between the 4 teams who will contest the play-offs this year, and whoever wins them will deserve the promotion.

With ourselves we come into the game with a fully fit squad of 19 which obviously means that 3 are going to have to miss out completely, which is really harsh on those players, as everybody has made a huge contribution this season. Picking a team was extremely tough also, there are a number of tough decisions, with players missing out who have been fantastic all season. We have spoken to a few players to get a bit of feedback on the team for the play-offs, and I can tell you now not one of them had the same side, which just goes to show how strong the squad is this season.

Whatever happens tonight we will be back here next season and whether we are in the Conference South or the same league we will be having another good go at it, and will continue to strive for improvements.

Enjoy the game, and I ask that you get behind the lads more than you ever have before, as you can really be the 12th man.
