That being said, we will still not class tonight as our “FA Cup Final” and will do everything we can to make sure that instead of potentially playing Hereford on the 6th of January in the league, we have a huge 3rd round cup tie to prepare for, however I am sure Rochdale will have a few things to say about that.

Good evening and welcome to Arbour Park for tonight’s FA Cup game second round game against League One Rochdale, we would like to welcome them to our place and hope that they have a safe journey home.

Clearly this is a pretty special evening for the club, what with this being the joint furthest the club has ever got in the competition, but also with it being broadcast live on BT Sport, and the 3rd round draw taking place at the ground takes it to another level. Obviously we have to enjoy nights like these, as for non-league clubs they are few and far between, but at the same time we have a job to do, and we will be giving it our best shot to try and create an FA Cup shock.

It goes without saying that Rochdale are huge favourites coming in to the game, playing 4 levels above us in the pyramid, and having seen what their team is capable of, we know that we will need to be at the top of our game to have any chance of progressing.

At the start of the FA Cup campaign away at Berkhamsted we reminded the lads how few opportunities you get in your career to get a bit of glory in the FA Cup, and those 5 wins before tonight have given them the chance to now perform on the biggest stage, and we just hope that the lads thrive on it, and do themselves justice. That being said, we will still not class tonight as our “FA Cup Final” and will do everything we can to make sure that instead of potentially playing Hereford on the 6th of January in the league, we have a huge 3rd round cup tie to prepare for, however I am sure Rochdale will have a few things to say about that.

In terms of the squad, we hope to have Alan Inns and Brad Wadkins back involved, and we had a real positive with Manny Williams getting through a period of Tuesday night to give us another option, however with all 3 they have had a long period out so will have to be content with a potential contribution from the bench. Despite going to extra time we did not pick up any serious injury issues Tuesday, although Sean Fraser did have to come off due to a few whacks on his ankle which had caused him to miss the recent Banbury game.

We urge you to really get behind the lads tonight, it would be great to hear non-stop singing, and create a fantastic atmosphere, do remember this is semi-professionals playing against professionals, so any extra help will be greatly received.

Enjoy the game and the night.
