Good afternoon and welcome back to Arbour Park for today’s league fixture against Frome Town.

This is our last home game before a run of 6 away fixtures, so by the time we are next back home, hopefully we will be in a position that we have managed to enhance our play-off aspirations. Frome are a decent side who we have not managed to beat since we have been managers at Slough. They get some fantastic results, and then possibly some strange results that then go against them, I believe they possess one of the best players in the league in Jon Davies, who I understand recently turned down a move to Weymouth which will have been a huge boost for them.

We come into the game off a draw against Basingstoke on Tuesday night, and whilst I feel we might have deserved the three points, a point was not the end of the day, especially after going behind so late on in the game, however the lads showed good character to get back into the game, and almost go on and win it.

One thing we have got to try and get back is a level of positivity round the ground on match day, this is a squad of players who sit in the play offs with games in hand, got to the second round of the FA Cup earning great revenue for the club, in a semi-final of the Berks and Bucks Cup, yet 15 minutes into the game on Tuesday we can all hear a number of people moaning and getting on the players backs after a couple of misplaced passes (when they are trying to do the right thing).

Our players are not professionals and will make mistakes, and I can only urge the fans to get behind them, as I am telling you now it can have a negative affect on how some of them play. Obviously this is not everyone and I am not saying that, however it is enough that the players talk openly about it in the changing room.

Maybe we have been spoilt this season and last with some brilliant displays at home, however in every season whether you are Man City or Slough Town, you will always have performances which are not up to those standards and it is impossible to replicate them all season, I would totally get it if the lads were not working hard and putting a shift in for the club, but they are, and do every week.

So I ask that everyone gets behind the team, we get the singing going behind the goal to try and lift the players especially in parts when we are not on top, and we come together as a club for the last 7 weeks of the season, and try to achieve what we all want, and that is promotion to the Conference South.
