Good evening and welcome to Arbour Park for the First Round of the League Challenge Cup.

We welcome Ben Murray and his Ashford side who have had a really good start to the season in the Southern Central league following their promotion last season. We know they will be young, hard-working and will look to play good football which should make for a decent game this evening.

With the fantastic start we have made to the season we clearly have one single priority and that is the league and we are going to have to be sensible with this competition and the Berks & Bucks cup and take the chance to rest key players whenever possible.

Having said that tonight is very important for players such as Dan Hicks, Adrian Sear, Gurkan Gokmen, Lewis Putman and our back-up keeper Jamie Jackson who have had limited match time for us so far and will want to impress tonight. We will try to supplement the squad with a few of the young academy players and hopefully 1 or 2 further additions such as Nathan Smart the ex-Basingstoke and Met. Police player who signed forms at the weekend.

On Saturday we were really disappointed to go out of the FA Cup but were once again proud of the efforts and performance of the players. With 10 minutes to go we were looking relatively comfortable and good value for a 2-1 win and felt that the decision from the referee to award Dartford a penalty was the wrong one and their late winner made it even harder to take.

Tonight we will be looking to put that disappointment behind us and bounce straight back with a positive night as we prepare to resume our league campaign on Saturday, here once again against Cambridge City.

We hope you enjoy the game!
