Without his drive and determination I am not sure I would be writing these notes today, and it is a huge testament to him that we are here, the supporters of Slough Town should realise that in Steve we have for me the best Chairman in football, he is one of life's good guys.

Good afternoon and welcome to Arbour Park....Wow it feels nice saying that!!!

Today is a momentous day for the club, in our homecoming, and I am sure something a lot of people never thought they would get to see, it is an incredibly exciting time for everyone, not least myself and Jon who have the wonderful opportunity of hopefully taking Slough Town to the next level. There are obviously a lot of people that we need to thank for the fantastic community facility that we can call home, starting with the council, however, I will leave that for others to do elsewhere and concentrate on one person.

The person who has been at the heart of this over the years, and who works his socks off for the club is the Chairman Steve Easterbrook. Without his drive and determination I am not sure I would be writing these notes today, and it is a huge testament to him that we are here, the supporters of Slough Town should realise that in Steve we have for me the best Chairman in football, he is one of life's good guys, and although I am sure he will be flat out making sure everything runs smoothly today, he deserves today credit for this day, and will go down in Slough Town history as the man who got Slough back home. Thanks Steve!!!

Moving to the football side of things we know that Hayes and Yeading will come here looking to spoil the party, and we need to make sure that we do not get carried away with the occasion, and concentrate on what we are here to do, win games of football. I write these notes prior to the Cirencester game so hope that we are coming into the game with 13 points, we have had a very solid start to the season, which is extremely satisfying as we knew it might take a bit of time for the team to gel with all the new faces in the summer, however, the lads have just got on with tit, and we are starting to put in professional performances. One pleasing aspect has been the 3 clean sheets at home, something that has eluded us over the past two season, and long may that continue.

In terms of squad news we will be without Gavin James who is on international duty, and also Lee Togwell who has a pre-arranged trip away. Other than that we are in pretty good shape.

I hope that the lads can put on a good performance today in front of what I hope will be a decent crowd and those who are coming for the first time I hope that we will see you back, as we have put together an honest hardworking team who like to play attractive football, and I can assure you that we will provide value for money and what better way to spend a Saturday afternoon/Tuesday night supporting your local team playing real football in a fantastic facility.

Enjoy the game!
