Last Saturday we had a real blow when new signing Harrison Gilkes picked up a knee injury at Fleet. It is too early to know for sure how serious it is but it didn't look good.

Good afternoon and welcome to the opening game of the 2016/17 season as we entertain St Neots at Holloways Park.

There is understandably great excitement for the clubs return to Slough but with the new ground not being quite ready we are extremely grateful to Beaconsfield for the use of their ground for the opening few home games of the season.

These notes were written prior to Tuesdays final friendly at Harrow but at this point we have been very pleased with our pre-season preparations. Results as always mean very little but what has been important is the way the new group of players has gelled over the past 5 weeks and there is a very positive feel around the dressing room.

We know our opponents today will have real ambitions to do well this season with an extremely hungry squad who will provide a tough test in the opening fixture. We with them well for the season ahead.

Last Saturday we had a real blow when new signing Harrison Gilkes picked up a knee injury at Fleet. It is too early to know for sure how serious it is but it didn't look good. Other than that we are hopeful of a clean bill of health for the opening fixture which will give us some tough decisions to make in terms of squad selection as we have real competition now throughout the team which as managers is a great problem to have!

We look forward to an exciting season and as always are extremely grateful for the support of the Rebels fans and we hope to hear plenty of noise from you all today as we look to get off to a positive start!

We hope you enjoy the game and the season!

Come on you Rebels!
