STYFC and PALS weekend update

A round-up of the weekend's action across the Rebels youth teams, and an update on the PALS team's preparations.

17/10/16

The U12s took to the field on Sunday morning at a very wet Farnham Park - so wet that it was debatable whether it would go ahead. However, just as the whistle went the rain stopped and the game finished with blue skies.

The first half saw Slough fail to convert numerous chances whilst the Slough keeper had little to do. With a minute or so left Golden Eagles attacked and an own goal gave them the half time lead.

This lead was then doubled early in the second half. The Slough lads never gave up and continued to battle with Malachi McDonald scoring with about 15 minutes to go. Both sides maintained the pressure throughout the remainder of the game with at least three rapid shots on the GE goal before Alfie Lathey poked it home to equalise with about two minutes to go. Well done to all of the lads who worked hard to claw back from two down to take home a point.

The U11 game was called off yesterday by the opposition who were unable to field a team due to illnesses.

The U14s cruised into the next round of the League Cup with a 9-1 win over Bourne End. Francis Ketter scored four, Tom King and Aaron Thomas Watts both netted a brace apiece and Ajay Hulait got one. It was a good all round performance from the squad.

The PALS team trained this weekend at Arbour Park in preparation for their tournament on 30th October at Oxford City FC and their move up the league into Division 2.
