Under 18s: Rebels defeat Windsor at Arbour Park

Slough's Under 18s come from behind to beat Windsor in the first meeting between the sides at Arbour Park.

15/09/16

Just a couple of weeks after Slough Town and Windsor met in the league, the two sides met again, this time at Arbour Park.

The game started with Slough taking the game to a new look Windsor Academy side. However, the Rebels couldn’t capitalise on their early chances and Windsor took the lead.

A long ball from Windsor's defence saw Slough's centre half mistime the bounce, which allowed Windsor to get a shot on goal which was saved by the Slough keeper Aman, but only to an on-coming Windsor midfielder, who headed into Slough's empty net.

After the break Slough came out with real purpose, pressing Windsor and giving them no time to settle.

Slough levelled the scores, and it was some good passing between Slough's midfield which enabled Sherman to latch onto the ball and calmly finish in the bottom corner.

With 15 minutes left Slough were awarded a free kick 25 yards out. Raju placed the ball and hit the target, with the ball nestling in the bottom left corner to give Slough the lead.

Slough saw out the remainder of the game, taking all three points which sees the young Rebels joint top of the league on points.

Mark Betts was delighted with the result, adding this was a great squad performance.
