Looking Ahead: St Neots Town

Slough look forward the opening day of the season as St Neots visit Holloways Park tomorrow (Saturday).

05/08/16

We very much look forward to the opening day of the season as St Neots visit Holloways Park tomorrow (Saturday) in what will no doubt be a closely fought game.

We had a very light training session last night following two competitive friendlies on Saturday and Tuesday and the squad is in good shape and a positive mood ahead of Saturday’s game.

Obviously Harrison Gilkes is now a long term absentee but the only other injury is Lewis Putman who aggravated a groin injury on Tuesday night and looks likely to miss the opening few weeks of the season. There were a few other minor knocks from Tuesday but we don’t expect these to rule anyone out although we must assess Brad Hewitt who has been recovering from a head injury and has been held back in the last two friendly matches.

Dan Hicks begins a 3-match suspension following his sending off at Merthyr on the final day of last season.

Both Adam New and Gurkan Gokmen are currently on loan at Step 5 sides, but with it being FA Cup weekend at that level they will be with us tomorrow to prevent them from being cup-tied and as a result we will choose from the following 19 man squad:

Mark Scott, Sean Fraser, Josh Jackman, Paul Stonehouse, Mark Nisbet, Guy Hollis, Brad Hewitt, Adam New, Simon Dunn, Lee Togwell, Nathan Webb, Adrian Sear, Warren Harris, James Dobson, Gurkan Gokmen, Charlie Losasso, Charlie Moone, Lee Barney, Gavin James.
