Looking Ahead: Bideford

Neil Baker provides his thoughts ahead of Slough's longest trip of the season on Saturday.

29/01/16

We get ready to embark on our longest trip of the season down to Bideford, looking to carry on from our win against Hitchin on Saturday.

To date, our away record has not been up to the levels of our home form, and this is something we will be looking to rectify for the back end of the season, starting this Saturday.

In terms of team news, I can confirm that we have today re-signed Paul Stonehouse from Oxford City on a 31-day loan, which will include 7 league games (subject to weather), and he will come straight into the squad for tomorrow.

Eddie Smith has recovered from his hamstring problem and will be a part of the squad on Saturday, however over the next few weeks we will look to get him out for games to improve on his match fitness where we can, so that he is up to fitness by the time Charlie Mpi goes to Dubai.

Jake Parsons is also in a similar boat - he will be part of the squad this weekend, however will go out to Ascot for a few weeks to get his match fitness, starting Tuesday.

We expect Dan Hicks to have recovered from his chest infection that meant he missed the game on Tuesday, also we are expecting Gurkan Gokmen back from Turkey today.

Scott Harris is unavailable this weekend due to a friend’s wedding abroad.

Meanwhile, Coyney will continue with Ascot whilst he gets his match fitness.

Squad from: Mark Scott, Sean Fraser, Jhai Dhillon, Paul Stonehouse, Dan Hicks, Guy Hollis, Warren Harris, Lewis Putman, Gurkan Gokmen, Jake Parsons, Leigh Rumbold, Nathan Webb, Ryan Hope, Lee Barney, Charlie Mpi and Eddie Smith.
