Adam Cornell to leave Slough

Neil Baker announces that Adam Cornell is to leave the Rebels and looks ahead to the weekend's FA Trophy fixture away at Margate.

31/10/14

Following communication with Adam Cornell, we can confirm that he will be leaving the club this week.

Similar to the position with George Short, Adam fears that with the return of Johnnie Dyer from injury, his time on the field will be limited, and would therefore like to try a move to a Step 4 club. Again this is not something that we can disagree with, and it is probably the right time for him to move on.

We would like to thank Adam for everything he has done at the club. He has shown a first class attitude throughout, and he will also be a miss in the changing room. His highlight will have been the Play Off Final, where he put in a top performance and played a big part in getting us promoted last year.

To be fair to Adam, he may still be with us for tomorrow's cup game at Margate depending on Johnnie's fitness, and that again shows his attitude and willingness to help us out in the event that Johnnie does not quite make it, however it will be his last appearance for the Rebels.

We both wish him all the best for the future, and will no doubt keep in touch.

In terms of the squad for the trip to Margate, we are obviously waiting on Johnnie, Ben is ruled out through injury, James Dobson is suspended but also nursing an ankle injury, and Adrian Sear is unavailable.

Squad from:

Aleks Gogic, Jake Somerville, Sean Fraser, Reece Yorke, Ryan Parsons, Guy Hollis, Billy Jeffreys, Tom Moran, Jamie McClurg, Luke Knight, Seb Castello, Jake Parsons, Eddie Smith, Scott Harris, Johnnie Dyer/Adam Cornell.
