Looking Ahead: Cambridge City

Neil Baker looks ahead to this weekends fixture away to Cambridge City

17/10/14

Slough head to 13th placed Cambridge City looking to return to winning ways following defeat to Redditch Utd in the league and Egham Town in the Red Insure Cup.

With the squad still devastated by injury to key first team players Ed Smith will look to make his long awaited return to league action against a side Slough have played three times previous in cup competitions, but have yet to record victory.

Ahead of tomorrows fixture, joint managed Neil Baker announced two new signings to boost the injury hit squad:

"We go to Cambridge City tomorrow in what is an important fixture for both teams, we have some good news in terms of a couple of new additions:

Firstly we welcome Billy Jeffreys to the club, who is a centre half and has been captain at Hampton and Richmond for a number of years now, he is someone that we have known for a while, and have managed to get a deal done in time for him to make his debut tomorrow.

We also welcome Aleks Gogic on a 28 day loan from Reading FC, Aleks is a 6 foot 4 keeper who has represented the US at youth level, he is highly thought of at Reading and originally came through the ranks at New York Red Bulls.

He will provide cover for Sommers who is out with an ankle injury, and enables us to not rush him back like we did Saturday when in reality he was not 100%.

Guy Hollis, Somers, Searsy and Johnnie Dyer are 100% out for tomorrow, and we will also have a fitness test for Jamie McClurg."

Squad from:
Gogic, Bonnett, Fraser, Moran, Jeffreys, Yorke, R Parsons, J Parsons, Dobson, Knight, Edwards, Short, McClurg, Harris, Smith, Cornell
