Warren Harris ruled out for the season

Winger Warren Harris is ruled out for the season with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.

10/09/14

It is with much regret that we report Warren has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament, the same awful injury that our skipper Adam Foulser sustained last season.

This happened in the first pre-season friendly against Windsor, and he will now need a full reconstruction of his knee, and will miss the rest of this season. He will probably not be back in action (depending on when he gets his operation) until July/August next year.

This is obviously a huge blow not only for us, but most importantly himself, as like Adam he is self-employed. As an electrician, this involves a lot of bending down and kneeling, and will cause him to miss work for 3-4 weeks, thus impacting him financially.

As with Adam we will do our utmost to help raise some funds so that he is not too much out of pocket, however with everything happening with the sad loss of Dave we will put this on the back burner for a few weeks.

There is no glossing over that it is a serious injury, and my thoughts are with Warren, however, he can use Foulser as an example of what needs to be done as he is getting much stronger now, and will be soon joining in with full training.

This has been real bad luck getting two of these injuries in under six months - I have played most of my football career and only really played with three people that needed to have this operation.

To lose a winger who contributed almost 20 goals last season, and was a standout winner for most of the player of the year awards last year is very hard to take, however as a management team we will need to adapt, but at the same time look forward to the return of 'Wazza' next season.
