Following the start of pre-season, we are in a position to confirm two more faces arriving from Godalming Town.
We are pleased to announce the signing of both Guy Hollis and Jamie McClurg, who jointly won our Managers' Player of the Season award last year. This was also the award Guy won the year before at the age of 20, and 'Clurgy' had also won the Players' Player of the Season award that year too.
Guy is an exceptionally strong centre half who can also play at right back. He is only 22 and very quick, is incredibly strong in the challenge, and has a monster throw which is often used to good effect. You might remember him scoring a wonder goal against Slough last season. His previous clubs include Carshalton Athletic and Ashford Town (Middx).
Jamie is one of the most energetic central midfielders in the league, and one of the nicest guys we have come across in football. He is a firm favourite amongst anyone he plays with. His work rate is second to none, and he pops up with vital goals. He is a born winner, and we are delighted to have him on board with us again. His previous clubs include Wycombe Wanderers, Basingstoke Town, Staines Town and Fleet Town.
We were delighted with the turn out last night at the first pre-season training session, and the quality and work rate was excellent from everyone. We said it would be competitive and it proved to be just that. We had four new faces there last night outside of Slough and Godalming players from last year, all of whom have been playing at this level or higher.
