I am very delighted and pumped to be involved in the club’s plans for the next coming season.
David Ogbonna
We are delighted to confirm that David Ogbonna has committed to the club by signing a new contract until the end of the 2024/25 season.
Since joining the Rebels last summer following an impressive pre-season campaign, David has excited fans with his direct play, pace and skills, which have struck fear into defences in National League South this season. He also provided a moment to remember with an equalising goal at Blundell Park against Grimsby Town in the Emirates FA Cup.
David had the following message to supporters after signing his contract:
“I am very delighted and pumped to be involved in the club’s plans for the next coming season. I would like to thank Scott and the management team and most importantly God for this opportunity because they see my potential to grow and be better and in areas where I didn’t expect.
“I look forward to working with them to execute my ability to perform & perfect my skills.”
Manager, Scott Davies added:
“It’s great news for everyone at the club that David has signed a new contract until the end of next season.
“It’s really important that we can move into next season with a group of players that have served us well this campaign, and David is certainly one of those.
“There’s no doubt that he’s become a fans’ favourite with his pace and trickery that we’ve seen throughout. He’s certainly been exciting to watch, a player that gets the fans on the edge of their seat and I’m sure the Rebels faithful will be looking forward to seeing even more of that over the coming months.
“The great thing about David is that for as good as he’s been, I genuinely think there’s more to come as he continues to improve during his time with us. As a management team we are delighted that we have secured his signature.”
