We are pleased to announce that Darren Edgar has been appointed as the club’s emerging talent scout.
In this role, Darren’s objective will be to cover as many non-league matches as possible to keep an eye on young prospects within the local area, working closely with the first team management.
He is no stranger to the club, having been part of the Academy23 set up since 2021, assisting Martin Kuhl with the EDS squad. He comes as someone that we can trust and rely on which is invaluable in a job that requires an eye for a player.
Darren has already been to several matches over the past few months - matches that we have asked him to attend to look at certain players, and other fixtures of his own accord.
His enthusiasm for the game is infectious and as a club we feel there is huge benefit in Darren taking on this role.
Darren commented: “I am delighted to be part of the team at Slough Town Football Club.
“It’s a brilliant setup with outstanding people who are passionate and dedicated, and of course the fans who are incredible supporters of the team.
“I have a great passion for scouting as it’s very rewarding seeing players progress in their careers and move onto higher levels within the game.
“I’m delighted to get started and can’t wait for the rest of the season to see where it takes us between now and the end of April.”
