We are delighted to announce the signing of the versatile and experienced Sam Togwell.
Sam is the brother of our player-coach Lee and has had an excellent career in the Football League, including a number of seasons in the Championship with Barnsley and Scunthorpe United. He has spent the last two seasons in the National League with Eastleigh, where he captained the side but has now taken the decision to move away from the professional game.
Living local to Slough, his desire this summer was to find a club close to home as he also works in the area now and obviously the chance to play with his brother was a big factor. He watched several games last season and was impressed with both the team and the set-up at Arbour Park so this is a great fit for him and us.
Sam has played a number of positions, from central midfield to centre-back and full-back, and his versatility and experience will be a huge asset to us for the coming season.
