We travel to Chesham United on New Year's Day and have some team news ahead of this game.
We are pleased to announce the signing of centre forward Ben Harris, who joins us from Ascot United.
Ben has recently been playing for a friend there to get his match fitness up after returning from playing in New Zealand for the past two seasons, where he has played for Team Wellington and Miramar Rangers in their top league, the New Zealand Football Championship.
Prior to that he was a big part of the Hampton & Richmond Borough team under Alan Dowson. He is a local lad, having been born in Slough and now lives in Windsor, where he started his football career as a 17-year-old. We welcome Ben to the club and wish him the best of luck with his career with us.
With Ben coming in we have allowed Gavin James to go out and play a number of games for Metropolitan Police, having previously dual-registered with them, as due to injury he has not had a run of games this season. We both feel it is beneficial for him to go and do this and get him back to the levels he was at last season before his injury.
Josh Jackman has also dual registered with Tooting & Mitcham United in the Ryman Premier League for a similar reason, and he will play for them on New Year's Day.
In terms of injuries, James Dobson is unlikely to be fit for Chesham with a thigh injury, however we expect that Warren Harris and Nathan Webb should both be available. Despite being in Australia, Matt Lench is recovering well, and we expect him to be fit upon his return on the 6th of January.
Also, Harrison Gilkes trained fully today, and again is not too far away from a return.
The squad will therefore be from the following players: Jack Turner, Sean Fraser, Nathan Smart, Guy Hollis, Alan Inns, Mark Nisbet, George Wells, Warren Harris, Simon Dunn, Nathan Webb, Lee Togwell, Chris Flood, Manny Williams, Brad Wadkins and Ben Harris.
