Looking Ahead: Hendon

Slough travel to old rivals Hendon on Saturday for an FA Trophy Third Round Qualifying tie.

24/11/17

Tomorrow we continue in the FA Trophy with a trip to old rivals Hendon, who are going very well in the Bostik League.

After a tough campaign last year, Gary McCann has put together an excellent side which is scoring lots of goals, and with their home form being an issue last season, they have managed to solve this, and have currently won 7, drawn 2 and lost 1 from their 10 home games.

They were unlucky on Tuesday night, conceding a 95th minute equaliser to a strong Dulwich Hamlet side.

In terms of ourselves, we took the decision not to train last night, as we need to protect the 13 fit players that we have, and therefore just the injured players went in to see Kev and Alex.

We are hopeful that Sean Fraser might be able to take a place in the squad, as he is recovering well from his ankle injury, however Manny Williams groin is still not 100% right and has ruled himself out, also Brad and Gav are still a little way away from fitness.

Alan Inns will be having a cortisone injection on Monday in his ankle, and it is hoped that he will come back into the squad Tuesday, whilst Harrison Gilkes is still a few weeks away.

We are talking with a striker today after the 7-day approach, however he would not be eligible for the FA Trophy or the FA Cup if he was tempted to come, however we also have a few other things in the pipeline.

We will be the same 14 as Tuesday night with Adam Cornell again helping us out, with thanks to Bracknell Town who do not have a game - and as mentioned above we might be able to add Sean Fraser.

Squad from: Jack Turner, Josh Jackman, Sean Fraser, Mark Nisbet, Guy Hollis, Nathan Smart, George Wells, James Dobson, Warren Harris, Matthew Lench, Simon Dunn, Nathan Webb, Lee Togwell, Chris Flood and Adam Cornell.
