Collection for Team Lottie on Saturday

Slough Town Football Club will be holding a charity collection at Arbour Park this Saturday.

27/09/17

We will be holding a charity collection at Arbour Park this Saturday.

Lottie, aged four was diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma when she was two and a half years old. She is a happy little girl who loves to create and adores anything pink and sparkly. Lottie lives locally.

She has responded well to the standard front-line treatment and finished her immunotherapy in mid-September. This marks the end of treatment available in the UK. The next step is travel to New York to access a clinical trial for a vaccine which is the best option to keep her neuroblastoma free.

To access this trial the family have had to raise £155,000. Amazingly they have managed to do it, achieving their target within days of her finishing treatment in the UK. Any further funds raised will be kept for five years, in case further treatment is needed in the future. After this the funds will transfer to Solving Kids' Cancer, who support families faced with the horrible disease and for research.

I have been following Lottie's progress over the last year through a mutual friend and have been in total awe of her amazing family who, on top of dealing with a very sick child and the frightening consequences of her illness, have fund-raised tirelessly to achieve their target.

There will be collection buckets at the game against Poole Town on Saturday if anyone would like to make a donation - one inside the gate and one on the tea bar (ground floor of West Stand). I hope that we can raise a bit of money for her.
