Slough Town U14s and U12s were both in action last Sunday.
The U14s battled until the last minute and got their just rewards against Holmer Green at Farnham Park.
In a very even contest, Slough created the best chances and could and should have been in the lead at half time.
The second half followed a similar pattern to the first, with Slough doing everything but put the ball in the net. Then from almost their only attack, Holmer Green managed to force a corner home.
The boys kept to their task and after several near misses from Philbert Arko and Francis Ketter, the deserved goal came. Philbert broke into the area and was forced wide by the keeper, but he squared the ball across the face of the goal for Jamie Batchelor to force home the equaliser.
The boys travel away to Holmer Green next Sunday in what promises to be another tight match.
The U12s travelled to Sipson to meet Explorers once again, this time in the semi-final of the Subsidiary Cup.
With a reduced team the boys played magnificently, going into the break at 0-0.
The second half proved tougher though, and the boys lost 3-1. Slough’s goal came from Joseph.
There is no shame in losing to the best team and certainly not after a performance like that. What an amazing season this has been - league champions and two cup semi-finals.
