Slough Town Academy holds successful trial
Written by Matt Webb / Mark Betts
The first Academy trial of 2017 took place at Arbour Park this week.
The Slough Town Academy hosted the first of five trials for September 2017’s new recruits this week.
The trial was held at Arbour Park on Thursday (16th February) and was a success, with the boys very impressed after their tour of the sports hall and gym, all of which is all brand new on site.
They were also impressed with the Arbour Park site, particularly the quality of pitch and the ability to play good football on it, and the feel of playing in the stadium itself. Indeed, many said it was like being at a ‘pro club’. They liked the fact that there are lots of opportunities to make their way up the ladder at Slough Town.
The session was filmed and some of the boys were interviewed, which they said was an amazing experience, whilst a photographer was also present to take shots of the session.
The boys all engaged in the session and displayed a wealth of talent which was great to see. They have all been invited back for another trial and are keen to sign up to the programme. Thanks also to first-team player Gavin James, who took the time to attend part of the session.
Well done again to all that attended, and we look forward to hosting future trials.
