Looking Ahead: St Ives Town

Slough Town will look to bounce back from Monday's defeat when they travel to St Ives Town tomorrow (Saturday).

06/01/17

We begin a challenging week on the road with a trip to St Ives tomorrow.

They are a side very much on the up and until Monday were on an impressive eight match unbeaten run in the league which only ended due to a very unlucky injury time goal at Kings Lynn, which we know is a very tough place to go.

Following our defeat against Chesham we are determined to bounce back and get another win on the board to strengthen our position in the league, particularly with two of our promotion rivals Leamington and Chippenham facing each other tomorrow. We have got ourselves into a great position which was always our aim at this stage, and now we enter a vital few months which will determine whether a title challenge is a realistic possibility.

In terms of team news, Warren Harris picked up a knee injury in a tackle right at the end of Monday's game and unfortunately it looks like we may be without him for 2-3 weeks.

Chris Flood has been carrying a heel injury which he picked up in his first game for us and will face a fitness test tomorrow before we finalise our starting eleven.

Other than that the squad is looking strong with just Josh Jackman unavailable (work commitments) and we have also allowed Gurkan Gokmen to get a game for Ascot United tomorrow.

The 16 man squad will be as follows:

Mark Scott, Sean Fraser, Paul Stonehouse, Nathan Smart, Guy Hollis, Mark Nisbet, Dan Hicks, Lee Togwell, Simon Dunn, Nathan Webb, James Dobson, Lewis Putman, Tom Biss, Gavin James, Charlie Moone, Chris Flood.
