STYFC weekend update

All three youth teams were in action at the weekend.

13/12/16

The U11s might be disappointed with their result but their managers were not disappointed with the effort or performance of their depleted team on Sunday.

With several key players missing the lads had to play out of position and had no subs. The lads are on a huge learning curve and are still coming together as a team but the managers are confident that with the hard work, effort and attitude that the lads are showing the results will come.

The U12s visited Cherry Orchard again this weekend to take on the BJ Blues. The final score was 0-5 to the young Rebels.

Steven opened the scoring followed by a fantastic goal by Malachi. A third was added just before half time. There was much debate as to whether it was Malachi 's goal or an own goal - guess who claimed it! Owen got the fourth goal and Rio successfully took a penalty. This generated huge celebration as it was his first Slough Town goal.

The boys remain in second place, but still with two games in hand.

The Under 14s welcomed back goalkeeper Nojus Trinovas from injury, and the impact was immediate as it spurred the boys on to a 3-2 victory away at Taplow Utd.

Philbert Arko and Tom King combined well to cleverly manufacture the opening goal from a corner. A 1-0 lead was scant reward for Slough from a hard fought first half, but the boys quickly turned this into a 3-0 lead with goals from Philbert Arko.

A bad injury to Ajay Hulait disrupted the Slough midfield but the boys continued to battle against the increasingly physical play of Taplow. The hosts scored with five minutes to go and the final minutes were edgy with Taplow throwing everything forward. They eventually scored another with the last kick of the match but Slough had done enough to get all three points.

Special mention for MoM Francis Ketter who ripped the Taplow defence apart on the right.
