Looking Ahead: Chippenham Town

Written by Jon Underwood

Slough will travel to Chippenham with Gavin James, who is nearer to his comeback.

After a disappointing day on Saturday we have the perfect type of game to look forward to as we look for a positive response from a trip to promotion rivals Chippenham.

Last year we played out a thrilling 3-3 draw at their place and then scrapped out a 1-0 win at home and this is likely to be another evenly balanced game against a very consistent and experienced side.

We have been open about our recent attempts to bring in another striker but unfortunately we have missed out on another target. Having agreed a deal with a player on Sunday, he then did a U-turn today and decided to stay at his current club which is disappointing but that is football and we will move on.

On the plus side, Gavin James has been getting through training and we are hopeful he might be an option from the bench tomorrow.

We will travel with the same 16 man squad that was named on Saturday plus Gavin.

Squad: Mark Scott, Sean Fraser, Nathan Smart, Paul Stonehouse, Mark Nisbet, Guy Hollis, Lee Togwell, Simon Dunn, Nathan Webb, Adrian Sear, Warren Harris, James Dobson, Lewis Putman, Gurkan Gokmen, Charlie Moone, Elijah Adebayo, Gavin James.
