STYFC weekend update

An update on last weekend's action across the Slough Town youth teams.

25/10/16

The U11s had an excellent result on Sunday. The match started off with constant pressure from the opposition for the first ten minutes until Slough hit them on the break with Max scoring the first goal of the game.

They then equalised shortly afterwards with a great strike from outside the box leaving the keeper with no chance. Slough then went a goal up again with a fine goal from Samuel. However, just before half time the young Rebels found themselves level again.

Slough started the second half strongly and the hard work paid off with a goal and a penalty giving Samuel a hat trick. A great passing move made the game safe with a fine finish from Charlie. Samuel then wrapped the game up with his fourth goal.

This was a great performance from all, from the keeper through to the attackers. Man of the match was very evenly contested, but was given to four-goal scorer Samuel. Well done, it sounds like the new team is coming together nicely!

The U14s' increasing injury list cost them dearly in their away match at Chalfont Wasps on Sunday. Despite taking an early lead through Ajay Hulait, who followed up on Tom King's well taken free kick, the loss of two central defenders to injury this week allowed the hosts to rack up a five-goal advantage.

Jamie Batchelor scored a second just before half time after a fine move down the left. The boys held their own for the beginning of the second half but the Wasps' physical presence and aggression meant it was an extremely difficult task to mount attacks. Ben Hall got a third after the keeper spilled Tom King's shot but it eventually ended up 9-3 to the Wasps.

Wishing the injured players speedy recoveries and keep your heads up lads.
